Bedford Pumps are seeking an Assembly Fitter to join their busy workshop in Kempston, Bedford.
The successful candidate will have served a mechanical apprenticeship on rotating equipment and be experienced in working to close tolerances, including the fitting of motors, shafts, mechanical seals and bearings. Training in the use of overhead travelling cranes and slinging would be a distinct advantage. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience on large pumping equipment.

Graduate Mechanical Engineer
Bedford Pumps are seeking an experienced Graduate Mechanical Engineer to work in their busy Engineering Department in Bedford.
The successful candidate will be specialised in mechanical & hydraulic calculation, and engineering tools programming and will hold a degree within a relevant engineering discipline.
Following a 12 month induction cycle, during which you have a unique opportunity to be exposed to all areas of the business from sales through to installation, you will take up a position in your chosen discipline resulting in the long term opportunity to be instrumental in the success of Bedford Pumps.
We are looking for a high calibre graduate who possesses a Mechanical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 2:1 degree classification. The candidate will be expected to have an understanding of centrifugal pumping systems and terminology, basic hydraulic principles of liquid flow and basic principles of rotating machines (bearings, mechanical seals, materials selection).
